I say to all of my new parents that your baby will not be this small for very long, trust me, I’m talking from experience here. Both of my children were born prematurely, so you could say that I got to have a newborn baby for a lot longer; however, it doesn’t stop them growing at a huge pace of knots!! Newborn sessions do take a lot longer than the usual photo sessions as we do have to relax the baby and frequently stop for parent cuddles, feeds and nappy changes. I never rush these sessions for the simple fact I like to take my time with the baby and capture your baby in various wraps, poses and of course include a family photo shoot. Some of the new babies come with their siblings and why should they miss out and not be included in the photo shoot as let’s face it little children who become a big brother or sister for the first time, it can be a huge change on their life as they have gone from being the only child to be then having to adjust to this little bundle that has recently moved into the family. Ideally the newborn shoot should be done within the first two weeks, the sooner the better, before your baby becomes supple. All wrapping of the baby is done in a safe manor and having over 10 years’ experience in this area of photography.
